Sun Chemical has been certified as part of the Clean Production Agreement (CPA) by the Chilean government’s Sustainability and Climate Change Agency.

The certification recognizes Sun Chemical’s efforts to help create a circular economy in the packaging sector by fulfilling goals and actions of the CPA.

“It was a priority for us at Sun Chemical to voluntarily work with the Chilean government to establish specific environmental goals and targets that we met within their set timeframe,” said Diego Vial, GM, Sun Chemical Chile. “We’re pleased to be recognized for the work we’re doing in Chile to reduce our environmental impact, improve resource efficiency and promote sustainable production practices.”

The objective of the CPA is to improve the productive and environmental conditions of occupational health and safety, energy and water efficiency, emissions reduction, waste valorization, good practices, productive development and other topics addressed by the agreement, by seeking to generate synergies and economies of scale as well as compliance with environmental regulations that tend to increase the productivity and competitiveness of companies.
