Komori America announced that Specialty Print Communications (SPC), a national solutions provider to direct marketers with headquarters in Niles, IL, is the first print provider in the Midwest to purchase a six-color Lithrone GX40 (GLX640) press equipped with full UV to replace a Heidelberg press.

SPC produces high volume direct mail with integrated coupon capabilities, loyalty programs and more that are unlike any others in its market space.

“We have our heart and soul in innovation, so we are super excited to be the first company in the Midwest to welcome this technologically advanced GLX640 to our pressroom,” said Adam LeFebvre, president of SPC. “The fact we could get a 41˝ press configured with UV was a clear differentiator for us because it will give us the breadth of capabilities we need to not only increase our output but also produce high-gloss, highly creative applications using a variety of coatings, gold, silver and other special effects increasingly in demand from our diverse mix of customers.”

Serving a roster of household names in the retail, financial, insurance and travel markets, SPC is looking forward to capitalizing on Komori’s advanced technology inherent in the GLX640 to offer enhanced color reliability, flexibility, reduced makeready and faster running speeds that will speed time to market.
