At NRF Retail’s BIG Show 2017 in New York, Smartrac showed its company’s RFID and IoT solutions portfolio to retailers, brand owners and consumers. In line with its theme of ‘Reinventing Brands and Retail,’ this year’s stand focus is on innovative and market ready solutions, presented together with partners such as Blue Bite, Catalyst, r-pac and Temera. In accordance with its ongoing transformation into a global leader in RFID and IoT solutions, brand- and retail-specific products and solutions will dominate Smartrac’s presence at NRF 2017. A major eye-catcher in the demo area on the two-storied booth is the recently announced NFC-enabled U.S. Ski Team (USST) outerwear collection, presented by the international ski and performance lifestyle brand Spyder. In collaboration with Catalyst and Blue Bite, Smartrac’s future-oriented Experiences solution has enabled Spyder to integrate the latest NFC (Near Field Communication) technology into its USST collection. This allows wearers to instantly engage with real-time and dynamic content, including Spyder’s social media feeds (YouTube, Instagram and Twitter); featured videos; ski events; and world-class USST members and rosters. Smartrac’s Experiences solution is further enhanced by the inclusion of contextual and location-based information such as snow conditions, trail maps and points of interest. Integrated into a live, ‘real-world’ apparel store environment, a full range of enhanced customer experience use cases is provided via 3D perspectives and presentations. Alongside Experiences, Smartrac is also presenting a demo of its in-store analytics solution Metrics. On the product side, Smartrac is presenting its portfolio of RAIN RFID tags and inlays, which have been certified pursuant to the University of Auburn ARC test system and graded using GS1’s ‘Tagged Item Performance Protocol (TIPP)’. “By delivering one of the most extensive and impressive exhibition appearances in its history, Smartrac offers proof of its commitment to the brand and retail market. Having strong and retail-savvy partners such as Blue Bite, Catalyst, r-pac and Temera here with us shows the growing IoT solutions demand in the retail industry. And Spyder’s USST collection provides a real and latest example of what Smartrac and its partners can do for brands wanting to provide their customers with an outstanding consumer experience, right here and right now,” said Stefan Rassau, head of solutions, Intelligent Things Business Division at Smartrac.
