Slough MetalJet 5000 Installed In Carclo Facility

Carclo Technical Plastics has been chosen as the first site for the MetalJet 5000 flat bed printer. The system has been installed in a purpose-built clean room where the flat bed printer sits beside the fully automated plating line. The system has been purchased initially to supply a security device to an existing Carclo customer, which requires the available capability of two-sided printing, lamination, digital cutting and the fitting of connectors.

The process was chosen by the customer because of its digital capability and cost benefit. The customer needed the ability to change designs and shapes which is capable on the CIT system without the need for expensive tooling. It is only a matter of changing the file to change the part. The system is undergoing final installation and then will be used as a flagship to attract other relevant business such as sensors or flexible circuitry. There is already a significant interest in the field of printed membranes.
