Sirit Inc. announced its partnership with eriginate Corporation, a subsidiary of HerdStar, LLC and a global integrator of track, trace and monitoring solutions to the livestock food industry. eriginate will utilize Sirit’s RFID tag and reader technology to support its comprehensive solutions developed for the livestock food market. eriginate’s eTattoo system is one of the first commercially available UHF cattle solutions, incorporating a customized Sirit UHF inlay embedded into a livestock ear tag and Sirit’s IDentity 5100 reader. The system, developed with livestock owners, was designed specifically to meet the rugged demands associated with the beef and dairy industries. The eTattoo solution offers a number of benefits over traditional tracking systems: tags provide both a visual and electronic identification in a single tag; read ranges can be focused or adjusted between 2 and 50 feet; and, tags can be read from either the front or back of an animal. In addition, multiple tags can be read simultaneously without system lockups and many of the delays associated with low frequency systems. “A key component of the eriginate system is the fact that little or no infrastructure changes are required for installation,” said Doran Junek, CEO of eriginate. “This, along with the variable read ranges, enables the Sirit and eriginate system to very quickly and easily solve challenges that the livestock market has struggled with historically.” “Food safety in the supply chain is an important initiative,” stated Norbert Dawalibi, CEO for Sirit. “Sirit is excited to have its inlays and readers form part of this unique solution which helps ensure safer products for consumers as well as assists producers and processers improve their operational efficiencies.” eriginate and its key technology provider Sirit, have been field testing the eTattoo ear tag and the IDentity 5100 reader system for the last 18 months and systems are currently being implemented in the U.S., Brazil and Taiwan. The eTattoo system and Sirit components are available for immediate delivery.
