Savi Technology, a Lockheed Martin company and leader in wireless solutions to manage supply chains and smart assets, announced that William Clark has joined the company as senior vice president and chief marketing officer. In this newly created role, Clark is responsible for the full spectrum of marketing functions, including market and product strategies, go-to-market activities, branding, communications, analyst relations, public relations and demand generation.

The addition of Clark to the senior leadership team will enable Savi Technology to leverage new marketing capabilities and drive Savi’s growth into an expanding base of commercial and public sector markets. In this role, Clark will oversee all of Savi’s efforts for defining, developing and leading market-driven growth strategies in all of the company’s business segments, worldwide.

Clark has more than 25 years of experience in a variety of sales and marketing roles in the technology market, including more than 12 years as a CMO and executive officer of market leading software companies in both Silicon Valley and the U.S. East Coast. He has an extensive track record of enhancing the reputation and recognition of companies as growth and innovation leaders in their markets – from early-stage, venture-backed firms, to publicly-traded, multi-hundred million dollar enterprise software leaders.

“New innovations in wireless technologies for supply chain intelligence and asset tracking are creating tremendous growth opportunities for Savi and an expanding set of customers and prospects,” said David Stephens, CEO of Savi Technology. “Bill Clark has an unparalleled track record of success at enabling companies like Savi to use marketing to transform their business, respond to market demands and lead their industries.”

“There are few companies today capable of creating the kind of transformational change in its markets as Savi Technology,” said Clark. “With its capabilities to track and manage almost everything with low-power wireless solutions, Savi Technology is enviably positioned to set the agenda and establish new standards for value in its marketplace.”

Prior to joining Savi Technology, Clark was executive vice president and CMO at Deltek, Inc., an enterprise software company used by 88 of the top 100 government contractors, and more than 13,000 customers worldwide. At Deltek, Clark was instrumental in developing a marketing function that established the company as a leader in a new enterprise software category, and contributed significantly to major revenue growth that led to a successful IPO in 2007.

Prior to Deltek, Clark was vice president of world product marketing at Novell, Inc., an industry pioneer in Netware products. At Novell, Clark led company-wide efforts to establish product families, go-to-market strategies, value positions and competitive differentiation for its diverse array of products. Previously, at Mantas, Inc., where he was executive vice president and chief marketing officer, Clark built the company’s first complete marketing function from the ground up with staff in the U.S., Europe and Asia-Pacific regions.

Clark also was vice president of worldwide marketing and business development at Bang Networks and senior vice president of worldwide marketing and business development at Hyperion Solutions Corporation. Earlier in his career, Clark was vice president of corporate technology at J.P. Morgan & Co. Inc., and held a succession of increasingly responsible positions in sales, marketing and management at IBM Corporation
