REC Names Jan Jacob Boom-Wichers Managing Director Americas

Renewable Energy Corporation (REC) announced the appointment of Jan Jacob Boom-Wichers as managing director Americas of REC Solar US, in order to rapidly expand sales activity in this region. Boom-Wichers is responsible for the strategic growth of REC Solar US’s presence in the Americas in his new role.

“I look forward to take on this exciting challenge, as the U.S. and Latin America are regions that REC is committed to further developing. These are important markets which we recognize to hold great potential for REC Group,” said Boom-Wichers.

Boom-Wichers joined REC in 2009, and was previously the managing director for France, Benelux, UK and Ireland for REC, which today accounts for more than 10% of REC’s sales.

With extensive experience in covering multiple solar markets, Boom-Wichers brings to REC Solar US a unique ability to manage the dynamic U.S. landscape. He is a Dutch-American citizen, and holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Swarthmore College and an MBA from the Wharton School. He will be based in California.
