Renewable Energy Corporation (REC) announced a Gold Partnership with solar supplier Wind & Sun. Working with REC since April 2011, Wind & Sun won a tender to supply both REC modules and SMA inverters to the Morawelon Housing Estate, near Holyhead on the Isle of Anglesey, Wales.

REC supplied 1,400 235 REC Peak Energy modules over a period of one month to 175 properties on the estate, equating 280,000 kw/h per year of renewable energy generation to the local community.

“We were most impressed by the low-carbon footprint of the REC modules, in addition to the detailed information provided on salt corrosion, in comparison to other market offerings,” Steve Wade, founder of Wind & Sun, said.

“Welcoming Wind & Sun to the REC Partner Program adds to REC’s substantial network of businesses,” Pierre Cesbron, business development Mmanager UK for REC Solar, added. “This latest partnership demonstrates our commitment to developing strong relationships with professionals dedicated to delivering long-term, high added-value, innovative and qualitative services, products and solutions to the renewables community, providing support in these transitional times.”

To date Wind & Sun has purchased a total of 5.8 MW of modules, reflecting REC’s position as a leading vertically integrated player in the solar industry. In addition, they have trained 16 companies as REC Solar Professionals, and seven of their 12 staff members are now REC champions.
