Precision Dynamics Corporation (PDC), the global leader in automatic wristband identification, and Intellitix, the global leader in RFID solutions for live events, will showcase their RFID solutions designed to enhance guest experiences at the International Music Festival Conference (IMFCON) from Dec. 2-4, at the Hyatt Regency in Austin, TX.

IMFCON is the largest international organization representing today’s music festival market. Industry experts will have the opportunity to personally experience PDC’s Smart Band RFID Wristband System in an interactive, live demonstration with Intellitix’s access control system and social media technology. An RFID chip containing a unique 16-character code is sealed inside each Smart Band. This code is validated by the Intellitix system when the wristband-wearing person comes in contact with one of its custom-built entrance portals or other RFID hardware.

For electronic access control, each Intellitix entrance portal has a throughput rate of more than 2,500 persons per hour. Dramatically reducing queuing times, the system allows guests to spend more time inside the venue focusing on performances and concessions. The identifying code programmed in each Smart Band deters counterfeiting and scalping, while providing peace of mind to promoters.

Intellitix and PDC’s RFID technology also enables fans to take advantage of the latest social media craze at festivals – linking live to Facebook to instantly share concert experiences with friends. Guests are able to sync their PDC Smart Band to their Facebook page, then with a quick flick of the wrist, communicate online via Intellitix’ RFID-enabled Live Click Stations that can be installed near concert stages, or anywhere throughout an event.

“RFID technology is a perfect avenue to connect promoters to their guests via social media. The social media aspect of RFID technology transforms guests into international event ambassadors, providing free advertising and branding for the festival,” said Robin Barber, vice president of leisure and entertainment for Precision Dynamics.

Since its launch in 2001, PDC’s Smart Band RFID Wristband System has been implemented at music festivals across North America as part of time-saving applications that help redefine the guest experience, while bringing significant bottom line benefits to the festivals that use them.
