Plastic Logic, the world’s leader in plastic electronics, today named global finance veteran Rik Thorbecke as its Chief Financial Officer. The Thorbecke appointment caps a week when the Company officially opened its new world-class plastic electronics factory in Dresden, Germany, and announced the receipt of two prestigious industry awards.

“We welcome Rik at an exciting time, as we ramp up production and prepare to launch our first consumer electronics product early next year,” said Plastic Logic CEO Richard Archuleta.

“We couldn’t have found a more qualified CFO to help us take Plastic Logic to the next level,” Mr. Archuleta said. “Rik brings the depth and breadth of international business and accounting experience that will be invaluable as we grow our operations in the UK, Germany and the US”.

With more than 20 years of international finance experience, Mr. Thorbecke most recently served as Vice President, Global Finance for Levi Strauss & Company. Previously, he was Vice President of Global Finance and Audit at Electronic Arts and was a Partner in the Technology Practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers.

In addition to being a California CPA, Mr. Thorbecke is also a registered accountant in the Netherlands. He received a postgraduate degree in accounting and auditing as well as a MS/BS in business administration and economics from the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
