PowerFilm, Inc., the developer and manufacturer of thin flexible solar panels, announces that it has made organizational changes to strengthen the systematic process control expertise in its manufacturing operations.

Pat Rundall has been named to the position of VP, operations. Previously, Rundall held the position of VP, quality and process improvement at PowerFilm. As PowerFilm continues to expand its production capacity, now moving forward with the lower-cost meter-wide equipment manufacturing technology platform, the company’s focus on systematic manufacturing process control will be essential to its goals to reduce costs and increase gross margins. He has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Iowa State University.

Prior to joining PowerFilm, Rundall was the global director of quality, education and technical support at Emerson Process Management.

Steve Martens, who had been responsible for manufacturing and equipment engineering since the early days of the company, will now be working in a position in sales.

In another organizational change, the mechanical engineering group will now report to Brad Scandrett, VP, engineering. Scandrett has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Iowa State University. He will now be responsible for mechanical, electrical, and application engineering for the company.
