EFI Fiery FS300 Pro – the newest Fiery digital front end (DFE) platform to date – is now available for the Konica Minolta AccurioPress line of digital presses, including new AccurioPress C3080 and C3070 series products. Electronics For Imaging, Inc. and Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. jointly announced updated EFI Fiery DFEs offering a range of improvements that help users maximize productivity, minimize touch points and achieve superior color and output quality. In addition to the operational improvements that come with EFI’s latest Fiery FS300 Pro DFE platform, customers benefit from the streamlined and efficient control and management capabilities of the new version 6 of EFI Fiery Command WorkStation – one of the industry’s most widely used digital printing job management interfaces. “The combination of our advanced AccurioPress lineup and Fiery DFEs have proven very successful for our customers,” said Kevin Kern, senior vice president, business intelligence services and product planning, Konica Minolta. “The upgrade to the newest Fiery platform helps ensure that our customers stay on the very leading edge of digital print productivity.” The new Fiery DFEs support Konica Minolta’s innovative IQ-501 Intelligent Quality Optimizer with Integrated Color Care Unit, which allows operators to scan color patches and registration marks in-line for “1-touch” automated closed loop color control and precise front-to-back registration from the press panel. Using EFI Fiery Color Profiler Suite color management software, the Fiery DFEs with supported Konica Minolta engines can be G7 calibrated and matched to GRACoL Colorspace compliance or Fogra PSD level A for the PSO Coated/Fogra 51 reference. Fiery Color Profiler Suite also supports many spectrophotometers, including the Konica Minolta FD-9. Two of the updated products announced today, the EFI Fiery IC-313 external and Fiery IC-417 embedded DFEs, support medium-volume and driver-based workflows, respectively. The third updated product, the EFI Fiery IC-315 external DFE, supports AccurioPress C6100 and C6085 models. It features EFI’s NX Premium hardware platform offering a sleek, modern design and enhanced performance, and includes Fiery QuickTouch software for faster views of job status and easier device management. Designed to handle challenging, complex and high-volume jobs such as variable-data work, it includes Fiery HyperRIP enhancements that can process jobs up to 55% faster, performing parallel RIPing on multi-page jobs. “Bringing the Fiery FS300 Pro platform to AccurioPress users provides an even stronger foundation for users to offer high-quality, fully personalized print to advance their communication products,” said John Henze, vice president of marketing, EFI Fiery. All the upgraded EFI Fiery products announced today help users create end-to-end workflows with the integration to EFI MIS/ERP and Web-to-Print products, as well as integration to popular prepress workflows such as the Agfa Apogee Prepress Workflow, Heidelberg Prinect, and the Kodak Prinergy Workflow. The newest-version EFI Fiery DFEs, as well as an upgrade kit for previously released versions, are available from Konica Minolta and authorized Konica Minolta resellers.
