New Ultra-HD FLEX Ink from Sawgrass Named SGIA 2018 Product of the Year

Sawgrass Ink innovation is recognized once again by Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA), which awarded the company the 2018 Product of the Year award for Digital Inks – Textile in the under 24-inch width category. Sawgrass won the award with the new Ultra-HD FLEX eight-color sublimation ink set for the Virtuoso HD Product Decorating System featuring VJ 628 printers. The ink set will debut at SGIA Expo in Las Vegas, Oct. 18-20, at Booth 3739.
 
“Ultra-HD FLEX is a new sublimation ink that eliminates the long-standing trade-off between the need for vivid color and tremendous detail – now customers can have both,” said Darcy Mauro, president of Sawgrass. “This unique eight-color ink offers true fluorescents, 64 spot colors and the deepest, most neutral blacks of any Sawgrass ink. Sawgrass developed Ultra-HD FLEX in response to the needs of creative entrepreneurs who are looking for the ultimate flexibility in an eight-color ink set. It brings together the versatility of having CMYK, plus light cyan and light magenta inks in one set then add true fluorescent yellow and pink capabilities that can blend to create a pre-programmed palette of 64 spot colors when used with Virtuoso Print Manager.
 
Sawgrass’ TruePix Classic sublimation transfer paper was also named 2018 Product of the Year in the Media – Dye Sublimation transfer paper category. These two honors come on top of Sawgrass’ 2017 Product of the Year win for its SubliJet-HD FLEX ink set, and three awards in 2015 for the SubliJet-HD’s CMYK and Pro Photo digital ink sets and the VJ 628 printer in the Roll-to-Roll Dye Sublimation on Metal category.
 
As with all ink sets for the Virtuoso HD Product Decorating System with the VJ 628 printer, Ultra-HD FLEX meets all G7 international standards for matching color and producing consistent print quality on various media.
