NAITEC, located in Navarra Spain, announced the successful installation of Germany’s Neotech AMT first new 15XBT System for 3D printer electronics. The 15XBT has upgraded mechanics, HMI, control system and a new tool calibration station, operating as a replacement model for the PJ15X. The new system offers a clear path to series manufacturing of processes developed in the platform by using a standardized, high-performance control system. It’s targeted at R&D, rapid prototyping, and low volume manufacture of 3D printer electronics. The 15XBT combines multiple printing technologies with surface mount device pick and place and 5-axis motion control. The 15XBT also supports a wide variety of functional materials including conductive links and pastes, dielectrics and other functional materials that can be accurately deposited into non-planar, complex shaped substrates. The System can enable the production of ‘Fully Additive’ mechatronics by 3D printing mechanical structures in the thermoplastics, thermosets, and ceramics. “I’m delighted that the first 15XBT has been chosen by NAITEC. They are one of the pre-eminent centers of excellence for mobility and mechatronics in Europe, providing innovative and sustainable solutions to a global market,” said managing director of Neotech Martin Hedges. “The project will enable unique product design that, for the first time, combine mechanical, electrical and potentially optical functionality.” “We are very happy and satisfied installing the new 15XBT multi-material printer in our facilities,” commented NAITEC researcher Javier Bravo. “We have over 15 years’ experience in 2D printed electronics and this system is the key piece of equipment we need to be competitive in the emerging sector of 3D printed electronics. We are now equipped to incorporate passive and additive electronics to our customer’s components form the automotive and mechanical sectors. We will help companies the innovate, enhancing their existing products or creating new ones with disruptive approach of 3D printed electronics.”
