Zebra Technologies Corporation announced that Modella Group, a Chilean-based fashion retailer, implemented an RFID solution to improve inventory accuracy and visibility and enhance the customer experience.
Modella Group implemented the Smart Retail solution of Telectrónica, a Zebra PartnerConnect Premier Solution Partner, with Zebra fixed RFID readers, antennas, mobile computers and sleds.
By creating an automated process for the receipt and dispatching of orders, Modella has eliminated manual errors and increased worker productivity in its distribution centers.
In addition, inventory audits in stores can be completed by one person in 30 minutes and products can be located 20 times faster, resulting in reduced operational costs, improved associate productivity and efficiency, and increased time spent assisting customers.
“We are very pleased with the Zebra-Telectrónica RFID solution, which has improved our efficiency and allowed us to better manage our inventory by tracking clothing from the manufacturer, through the distribution center and into our stores,” said Rodrigo Hishberg, retail manager of Modella Group. “By improving our inventory visibility, our accuracy has increased from 60 to 95%, providing a solid foundation for our commitment to excellent customer service.”
Initially, Modella Group deployed the Smart Retail solution in three stores as part of trial in Santiago de Chile. The company is planning to roll out the solution to an additional 70 stores for a variety of brands beyond the trial.
“Zebra’s innovative solutions provide retailers like Modella Group with visibility and actionable insights into its customers, inventory, and other valued assets from the point of sale to the distribution center,” said Alejandro Prosperi, sales director for south of Latin America region of Zebra Technologies. “Zebra offers purpose-built scanners, printers and mobile computers that helps Modella Group outperform the competition, elevate the customer experience and strengthen its operations.”
The RFID solution has facilitated the traceability of each clothing item from manufacturing, through its entry and exit at the distribution center to its arrival at stores. Clothing is identified with RFID tags and Zebra’s readers enable high-performance tracking to get the real-time information needed to accurately count inventory and provide faster answers to customers.
