Markem-Imaje announced the launch of its latest innovation – the white MW2440 ink, specifically tailored for difficult-to-code polyethylene (PE) cables including low-smoke, zero halogen materials (LSZH, HFFR, NHFR, LSOH).

This new ink enables manufacturers to print on difficult PE cables, helping to ensure high-quality, durable, and environmentally safe markings. The white MW2440 ink is now available for all Markem-Imaje 9750+ coder models.

As industries increasingly focus on safety, Markem-Imaje has taken steps to meet the demand with a solution designed to excel in printing high-visibility, white codes on PE substrates. The MW2440 white MEK ink stands out for its exceptional performance and superior printing quality, offering numerous advantages for extrusion manufacturers:
• High Adhesion: Ensures robust printing on a variety of PE substrates, including PE, LSZH, HFFR, NHFR, and LSOH, without necessitating post or pre-treatment.
• Enhanced Durability: Offers remarkable resistance to bending, eliminating transfer when cables are stored and rolled, thereby maintaining print quality and readability.
• Environmental Resistance: Stands up against fluids (water and ethanol), UV, and temperature variations, ensuring longevity and sustainability of the printed codes.
• High Contrast Printing: Achieves ultra-contrasted white code with perfect dot definition, supporting barcode, data matrix, and QR code prints with a grade of B or above for impeccable scanning and tracking.
• Safety: Halogen-free by-design formula (Halogen content < MDL according to EN 14582:2016 method on liquid ink) significantly contributes to reducing toxic fumes in the event of a fire, aligning with environmental and safety regulations.

” This solution demonstrates our commitment to innovation and quality and reinforces our dedication to supporting the industry’s move towards safer, more environmentally friendly materials,” said Pauline Mouillet, product marketing manager at Markem-Imaje.
