Komori America celebrates the Komori Corporation’s 100th anniversary at the PRINTING United Expo. The company will have an original Komori press from the 1930s on display to highlight the differences in modern advancements. The GX/G advance series of offset presses and Komori’s System G38 web offset press will be on display to show the company’s evolution from manufacturing printing presses to becoming a print engineering service provider (PESP). This has allowed print providers to expand revenue streams with new solutions in packaging and commercial print. Komori’s GX/G advance series supports digital transformation and sustainability and contains the ability to fully automate and link other production processes. The System G38 web offset press includes LED-UV curing that is designed to provide high-volume production with energy savings and a lower carbon footprint. MBO America will be sharing a booth with Komori and will be showcasing solutions beyond typical B1 folding. The Bograma BSR 550 Diecutter will be on display and can produce folding cartons and postcards from the same machine. Also on demonstration will be a hybrid stitching line with the ability to run four different jobs from inkjet print and cutsheet inkjet print sources, while MBO’s CoBo-Stack automated palletizer stacks finished products. Five new rollfed finishing modules by MBO will also be on display: the SVC 23 Sheeter, ZSS 23 Automatic Splicer, DFT 23 Folder, SC 23 Spot Coater, and the CC 23 Contour Cutter. All new modules are sized to fit inkjet production web widths up to 23” wide, providing increased productivity for response letters, postcard direct mail, and brochures when imposed on wider webs. The ZSS 23 Automatic Splicer can automatically splice a new roll to an expiring one without slowing or stopping the press or finishing line, removing downtime between job changes. The CC 23 and SC 23 are embellishment modules with the ability to create additional cuts, patterner perforations, non-square edge trims, window knockouts, tactile touch sensations, and eye-catching surface finishes, to add value to final products and achieve better conversion rates. “This is a milestone year for Komori and PRINTING United gives us the perfect opportunity to meet with our customers who have been an integral part of our success,” said VP of marketing for Komori America and MBO America, Lance Martin. “We are also excited to showcase all the new MBO systems displayed in the booth as they support Komori’s PESP approach to bringing together technologies and networks that provide customers with advanced, robust, seamless printing production systems that help resolve major challenges printing companies are now confronting.”
