Establishes joint platform and a central center of excellence at Koenig & Bauer Celmacch in Desenzano del Garda.

Koenig & Bauer reaffirms its strong commitment to the growing corrugated board market. A strategic realignment has been decided upon to further expand its competitiveness and market presence. This decision is the result of a comprehensive, three-year analysis of the strengths and potential for optimisation within the High Board Line portfolio of the still-young partnership between Koenig & Bauer, headquartered in Würzburg, and the Italian site of Koenig & Bauer Celmacch in Desenzano del Garda. The Chroma X Pro stands for innovation leadership, with its automation solutions consistently receiving a positive market response. At the same time, the Chroma High Tech represents very high technical maturity and stability.
To further develop these complementary strengths in the future, a joint platform is being created as the basis for the entire Chroma portfolio (Chroma Smart, Chroma High Tech and Chroma X Pro series), which will be continuously developed at the Koenig & Bauer Celmacch site in Desenzano del Garda. This will enable the long-term utilisation of synergies and the efficient integration of future innovations into the individual product series of the portfolio.
The company remains true to its philosophy of covering the entire spectrum of performance levels in the High Board Line segment: from the Chroma Smart series for medium output, through the Chroma High Tech series for medium to high performance, up to the Chroma X Pro series for the highest performance and automation.
The Italian site is characterised by its agility and flexibility. This allows for quick decision-making and a high degree of responsiveness. Simultaneously, Koenig & Bauer Celmacch draws on the expertise and support of the entire Koenig & Bauer Group. As a result, customers benefit from both Koenig & Bauer Celmacch’s more than 40 years of experience in the corrugated board industry and the broad expertise of the entire Koenig & Bauer family.
For existing customers of the Chroma X Pro, this realignment means continuous stability and clear advantages. The responsibility for the originally developed Chroma X Pro series, as well as the entire already installed base, remains at the Würzburg site. The knowledge built up over the years and the established customer relationships will continue to be leveraged to ensure optimum support. Existing customers will also continue to benefit from the further development of the innovative features of the Chroma X Pro.
