Kodak Aims to Help Customers Grow, Innovate at Labelexpo 2015

Kodak says it will have a strong presence at this year’s Labelexpo Europe 2015 which takes place at the Brussels Expo, Belgium from September 29 to October 2. The Kodak stand, 5D15 will feature a wide range of solutions, across flexo, letterpress, offset and digital printing technologies. These technologies are designed to deliver the exceptional print required for the latest brand marketing needs and consistent, streamlined production processes that keep label and packaging print providers competitive.

One of the highlights of the Kodak booth will be live demonstrations of the KODAK FLEXCEL NX Wide 5080 System, the largest and newest addition to the popular FLEXCEL NX System portfolio. Visitors will be able to discover the NX advantage for a wide variety of applications, ranging from labels and flexibles to corrugated boxes, with a set of newly-launched features for which Kodak recently received a prestigious PIA InterTech Technology Award.

Developed over a period of two years, the NX advantage includes an advanced set of KODAK DIGICAP NX Patterns that are once again revolutionizing ink transfer for flexo printing. FLEXCEL NX Plates with the advanced surface patterns can now be used across a wide range of print conditions that include white and spot colors on film, to reduce ink usage and visibly boost on-shelf appearance. Kodak experts will be on hand with tools designed to help flexo prepress providers and printers understand how this new technology can help them stay competitive in today’s challenging market.

The potential of large-scale digital printing for the packaging industry has not been truly explored yet but it holds promise for personalization, improved customer loyalty and integration with online campaigns. Kodak advocates for a hybrid solution that combines the speed, cost effectiveness and versatility of flexo printing with KODAK FLEXCEL plates with integrated inline high-speed inkjet components for package customization.

Recently demonstrated by the Italian press manufacturer Uteco, KODAK PROSPER S20 Imprinting Systems can be integrated into a conventional flexo press to add variable content at high speeds to high quality package designs. With the ability of the KODAK PROSPER S-Series Imprinting Systems to print on flexible films and the recent release of packaging inks that are compliant with indirect food contact directives, the Kodak technology offers significant opportunities to brands and printers alike.

Kodak will be demonstrating the Power of 7; KODAK PRINERGY Workflow 7 and new KODAK INSITE Prepress Portal 7 live in the Labelexpo booth. PRINERGY Workflow is renowned for increasing the level of automation in every core function of the prepress and production processes, from job creation through collaboration, file processing, trapping, proofing, creation of the imposition and layout to color management. The latest version also includes new flexo screening features optimized for the unique capabilities of the FLEXCEL NX System.

KODAK INSITE Prepress Portal version 7 is 100% Java free and offers a new HTML5 system diagnostics and a redesigned HTML5-based Smart Review interface. INSITE Prepress Portal integrates seamlessly into the PRINERGY Workflow and helps packaging print providers reduce turnaround times and costs by delivering simple, real-time access to jobs in production and online collaboration with clients.

And last but not least, visitors to the booth will be able to learn about a brand new Kodak digital offset plate for packaging printing. Kodak is looking forward to a busy Labelexpo Europe 2015.
