Nedap France, business partner of Nedap N.V., announces the successful deployment of its RFID technology across more than 450 stores operated by Kiabi, the leading French affordable fashion brand.

This strategic initiative supports Kiabi’s ambition to offer a seamless, secure, and connected customer experience across its omnichannel ecosystem.

The rollout marks a significant step in Kiabi’s transformation journey, empowering stores to connect security to a frictionless checkout process – bridging the gap between loss prevention and experience enhancement

“This project is a key milestone in our ambition to deliver an unrivalled shopping experience,” says Pierre Monginot, sales manager at Kiabi. “With RFID, we can ensure product availability across channels, improve security, and streamline the customer journey. It’s a powerful lever for boosting our agility and competitiveness.”

As part of the deployment, Kiabi is also implementing Nedap’s people-counting solution to better understand footfall patterns—translating customer behavior into actionable insights for store operations.

Security and Experience: No Trade-Offs

A major priority for Kiabi was to enhance item protection without compromising the customer experience. Nedap’s RFID-based systems met this need with solutions that seamlessly integrate into existing environments and adapt to various store formats—without requiring major infrastructure changes.

“We needed a robust solution that aligned with our operational realities and that we could roll out rapidly across Europe,” explains Anthony Amico, program director at Kiabi. “From the start, Nedap stood out for its equipment durability, technological maturity, and understanding of our goals. Today, we’ve equipped over 450 stores with RFID—ensuring strong item protection while keeping the in-store journey fluid and enjoyable.”

Kiabi and Nedap have worked together for more than 10 years, with earlier deployments of RF-based anti-theft systems still in operation. Building on that foundation, this new phase of collaboration reflects a shared commitment to innovation, reliability, and scalability.

“For Kiabi, this RFID deployment continues our long-standing partnership with Nedap, carried out with the same efficiency and rigor as during our first rollouts,” adds Nathalie Zimmerman, works manager at Kiabi.

The deployment began with affiliate stores in 2024 and scaled to company-owned locations between February and July 2025. All European stores—both branches and affiliates—are now equipped with the RFID technology, tailored to their local format and infrastructure.

“Our collaboration with Kiabi exemplifies what it means to be a long-term strategic partner,” says Myriam Beugnet, retail business unit director at Nedap France. “By combining durable technology with our rollout expertise, we were able to meet tight timelines while helping Kiabi elevate its omnichannel performance. This project demonstrates how RFID can deliver tangible value for both operations and the end customer.”
