Julie Brown Receives IEEE Frederik Philips Award

Universal Display Corporation (UDC) announced that Dr. Julie Brown, Executive Vice President and Chief Technical Officer, has been honored with the IEEE Frederik Philips Award.

This recognizes her outstanding accomplishments and “leadership in the development of materials and technologies for phosphorescent Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) displays used in consumer electronics.”

Since 1998, Dr. Brown has guided UDC’s innovation strategy from its early-stage development through commercialization and continues to shape its roadmap for future advancements. 

As CTO, she leads UDC’s global R&D efforts, driving forward OLED emissive layer technologies that enable high-performance, energy-efficient displays across a wide range of consumer electronics.

The IEEE Frederik Philips Award honors exceptional leaders whose work bridges research and real-world application, contributing to meaningful technological progress across the global electronics industry. 

The award is presented annually to an individual or team and is based on criteria including management leadership, impact on innovation, personal contributions, and technological impact.
