Zebra announced that JAS Jet Air Service SPA is using Zebra’s radio frequency identification (RFID) technology to gain greater inventory visibility. In fact, JAS has already cut its warehouse error count to zero and achieved 100% package loading accuracy.

Headquartered in Segrate, Milan, JAS is an industry leader in the international transport sector with 22 operative branches in Italy and a proprietary network active in 47 countries around the world serving the automotive, energy, aerospace and pharma industries.

“Thanks to the immediate RFID checks we now conduct, we can confirm that a package has been read and loaded with 100% certainty,” said Paolo di Tullio, business process management specialist, JAS Italy. “With real-time verification and new warehouse procedures, we can identify every parcel, verify the shipment loads via sea and air, and manage the transfer of goods between our warehouses. Colleague feedback has been extremely positive, and they’ve experienced a lightened workload, which enhances our business competitiveness significantly.”

These outcomes echo the findings of Zebra’s 2023 Global Warehousing Survey which shows eight in ten warehouse associates surveyed feel more valued when their employers provide them with technology and automation tools to help them work.

JAS handles hundreds of thousands of packages a year at its Segrate location, and risk of error is real. Its previous warehouse processes were manual, with employees conducting visual checks of items and paper documents. The company needed to automate and digitize its warehouse operations to drive efficiencies.

Zebra and HT Stone, Zebra Premier Business Partner, equipped JAS with Zebra’s MC3300 RFID Android mobile computers and TC52 mobile computers across eight warehouses. JAS also replaced its existing industrial label printers with Zebra ZT411 RFID printers to accurately and efficiently print and encode Zebra RFID labels.

“In transportation and logistics, the right information at the right time can be the difference between efficient deliveries and misplaced resources,” said Andre Luecht, global strategy lead for transportation, logistics and warehouse, Zebra Technologies. “Zebra provides the industry’s broadest field-proven RFID portfolio for unmatched accuracy and interoperability that elevates every system, device, tag and worker.”
