A new and larger digital narrow web press, a new small batch ink dispenser, and new flexographic and gravure label inks will have printers and converters smiling when they visit the INX International Ink Co. (booth 6411) at Labelexpo Americas 2014. These products are designed to meet today’s marketplace demands and will be demonstrated at the show, slated to run Sept. 9-11 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL, only a few miles from INX corporate headquarters. New equipment includes the Komori NW210 inkjet UV digital narrow web press with inline laser and the HMJ-200 small batch ink dispenser. In addition, three premium quality AquaTech ink formulations for labels will be highlighted, as well as two INXFlex process inks and two premium ink systems for shrink label printers. INX will also debut a Troubleshooting Guide App to help solve common printing problems. “We’ve had a very good track record and that’s why I’m looking forward to this year’s show,” said Rick Clendenning, resident and CEO of INX International Ink Co. “Our record speaks for itself because we’ve been in tune with what label printers and converters need to compete for business. The new equipment offerings we have this year, combined with the various ink formulations we’re offering, provide across-the-board options to choose from. Either way, you’re going to find the right solution for your customers.” The new Komori NW210 inkjet UV digital narrow web press opens the door for label converters, direct mail and packaging printers looking to transition into digital printing. Unrivaled in the marketplace, the NW210 is powered by JetINX to make it incredibly fast. It delivers outstanding performance with UV-LED cure single pass output up to 80 feet per minute and prints on any label stock at a maximum printing width of 210mm, 50% wider than the NW140. The NW210 also features several upgrades. Besides the Spartanics X210 laser die-cutting station, it boasts five color ink channels and the newest Xaar patented technology. This includes fifteen 1002 8-level gray scale print heads capable of printing with an apparent resolution of greater than 1000 dpi. The HMJ-200 small batch ink dispenser from HMJtech Dispensing Solutions is unique for the tag and label market. An extremely cost-effective solution for small-to-medium sized batches, it is manufactured to North American and European safety and compliance standards. Needing little space with a compact footprint, it comes fully assembled and ready to dispense ink. The HMJ-2000 is designed to quickly and efficiently deliver single point dispense into jugs with small openings and requires only 90 seconds to deliver four ingredients in a one-gallon jug. Available for water based or UV curable ink, it is configurable up to 14 base ingredients from kits, drums, totes or bulk. A quick adjust scale base accommodates multiple dispense containers from jugs to pails. Three AquaTech premium quality water-based flexographic ink formulations will be on display in the booth. The ION-T Thermal series is used for a wide range of thermal laser printers and represents a significant advancement for thermal label printing. The ION PlusT series, specifically designed for printers using higher line anilox rolls up to 1500 lines, offers outstanding color strength, high heat resistance and excellent transfer. It also provides superior stability at a wide range of press speeds and intended for use on substrates such as thermal label, semi-gloss, EDP and treated foils. The ION-P Paper series label inks print on most Prime Label, semi-gloss and EDP substrates, plus an array of pressure sensitive and tag liners. Offering strong performance, vivid color strength and outstanding transparency, these inks exhibit superior press stability for a wide range of press speeds. Also available is ION-Plus P for higher anilox rolls up to 1500 lines. The ION Film Glow & Sheen Metallic series prints on most Prime Label, semi-gloss and EDP substrates, as well as most treated films and foils. Printers can expect exceptionally brilliant colors, superior strength and outstanding stability at different press speeds, in addition to excellent transfer and fast drying capabilities. They also sport excellent adhesion to various non-porous substrates. Also on display in the booth will be the INXFlex UV ITX-free Shrink 70 flexo Process inks and INXFlex UV CLMII Low Migration flexo Process inks. UV Shrink is formulated for minimum plate swell and specifically engineered for shrink sleeve applications with heavy ink coverage. Suitable for most tag and label, pressure sensitive and in-mold applications, they provide good adhesion to a vast range of substrates. The LM inks are formulated and compliant with various regulations, and offer LM characteristics for indirect food contact while exhibiting superior gloss and transparency. Shrink label printers will want to check out the solvent-based Etona and ShrinkPac F ink systems. Premium gravure inks designed for PETG and OPS Shrink Sleeve applications, Etona offers exceptional film adhesion and printability at high speeds and ShrinkPacF is fast drying with excellent film adhesion, resoluability and heat resistance. The INX Troubleshooting Guide App is designed to be an easy-to-use tool to recognize symptoms, determine probable causes and find solutions for many printing applications: sheetfed; web offset/heatset; UV flexo, litho, hybrid and metal decorating; EB litho; and 2-and 3-piece metal decorating. It provides the opportunity to select and save the most common printing problems and share it with someone else.
