Showcases new products and expanded capabilities for the OEM, industrial and aftermarket channels

After months of planning, INX Digital International Co. officials were eagerly anticipating the start of FESPA, which was held June 22-26 in Munich, Germany. A slew of new products and expanded capabilities for the OEM, industrial and aftermarket channels turned out to be exactly what show attendees were looking for. Booth traffic was encouraging throughout the show. “It was a terrific event with great attendance. The leads we generated more than doubled what we’ve produced in recent years, so we obviously struck a chord with FESPA’s audience,” said Paolo Capano, director of INX Digital Italy. “Our sales leads represent global interest but there was a clear emphasis on the European market, and they came from printers who are ready to commit to new ink for their systems. The new metallic Silver ink was very well received, as were the new textile inks. We also answered many questions about our EVOLVE Advanced Digital Solutions, which attracted plenty of attention each day of the show.” INX Digital introduced the new Eco Bulk ink delivery system, which is part of INX Digital’s Green recycling program, as well as the Triangle AXB superwide format inks that use renewable resource content. But show attendees were highly interested in the company’s partnership with Eckart to develop the metallic Silver ink for the UV curable market this year. It was demonstrated in the booth on a Mimaki JV3 printer. Based on its reception, company officials expect it will make a direct impact on the label and tag market, in addition to the folding carton segments of packaging. “Silver was very intriguing for many people. We had numerous discussions with the OEM market and with end-users who would purchase the product via Triangle, our aftermarket brand,” Mr. Capano said. “The textile inks were very successful for the aftermarket ink channel. We found plenty of interest from dealers looking to make the commitment to the product line before the end of the year.” The water-based textile inks represent a continuation of INX Digital’s commitment to green products. They are designed for use on direct printing with synthetic fabrics with Epson print heads, offering optimal quality and a wide color gamut while displaying fast drying characteristics on polyesters with minimum 60 percent blends. Mr. Capano said the decision to use a plasma TV monitor for the EVOLVE Advanced Digital Solutions section of the booth proved to be a wise choice. Visitors were able to see in action the CP100 can printer, the MD660 UV flatbed printer, and the NW100 narrow web label printer. “The EVOLVE concept induced a lot of questions and interest,” Mr. Capano said. “The idea of pulling traditional printers into the digital world through customized integration compared to cookie cutter machines was intriguing to many people.” The other big news that occurred during FESPA was the announcement naming Ken Kisner as president of INX Digital International. Mr. Kisner, 42, has more than 20 years expertise in the digital imaging market and most recently served as president of INX Digital Americas.
