International Paper Announces Senior Leadership Moves

Thomas J. Plath has been elected by the board of directors to become SVP, Human Resources and Global Citizenship.

International Paper has announced the following senior leadership changes:

Thomas J. Plath has been elected by the board of directors to become Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Global Citizenship, effective March 1, 2017. Mr. Plath joined International Paper in 1991, serving most recently as Vice President, Human Resources, Global Businesses. 

The company also announced the retirement of Thomas G. Kadien, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Government Relations and Global Citizenship. Mr. Kadien joined the company in 1978 and will retire effective June 30, 2017. 

“For nearly four decades, Tom Kadien has left an indelible mark on International Paper, not only as a leader but as a colleague and friend. We wish him the very best in retirement,” said Mark Sutton, Chairman and CEO.  “Tom Plath will lead our efforts to continue to attract, engage and develop our colleagues around the world. Tom will be an excellent addition to our senior leadership team.”
