New complete line of equipment for laboratory scale printing, testing and imaging of solar cells.

Research within especially organic and perovskite solar cells requires numerous pieces of equipment, which have both high costs and takes up a lot of square meters in the laboratory. With the Academic Research Line, infinityPV has boiled it all down to three essential pieces of equipment that allows you to do it all with a small laboratory footprint, simple requirement for installation and powerful software package while keeping a competitive price. “We have many customers within academia that for some time now have asked for equipment that for example can fit in a glove box and that would still allow them to prepare devices of high quality on both rigid and flexible substrates,” said Frederik C. Krebs, CEO of infinityPV. “With the Academic Research Line, we at infinityPV have achieved this and so much more.” The equipment in the Academic Research Line counts the Research Laboratory Coater (RLC), the UV-LED ISOSun SMU and the Academic LBIC. All equipment can be operated on the desktop, in a fume cupboard or in a glovebox. The systems are upwards compatible, and it is possible to upgrade the basic system to the most advanced version at any given point. The RLC is the creative starting point where films can be made using materials and inks through a wide choice of deposition techniques (slot-die, flexo, knife, bar, spray etc.). The system is easily expanded to full R2R (roll-to-roll) processing by docking the entire RLC unit onto a R2R platform. The UV-LED ISOSun SMU is an all-in-one solution for testing small laboratory solar cells under illumination. The light source is a powerful combination of UV and white light LEDs allowing illumination over an area of 16 x 16 mm2. With the Academic LBIC, infinityPV now offers a system available at low budget that packs the same power as our industrial line with a small imaging area. The standard unit offers fast imaging of single junctions and modules over an area of 50 x 50 mm2. Together with the release of the Academic Research Line infinityPV has arranged an Academic Workshop (Aug. 14-15, Jyllinge, Denmark) that allows participants to get “hands on” experience with large scale manufacturing of printed solar cells.
