Impinj, Inc. announced the appointment of Eric Brodersen as chief marketing officer and senior vice president of business development. Brodersen’s senior management experience helping high-growth companies scale and expand into new vertical markets will enable him to implement strategies that deliver enterprise-level solutions and build broader awareness of Impinj’s RFID platform and the value of Item Intelligence as a competitive business tool. “We’re extremely excited to have Eric join our senior management team,” said Dr. William Colleran, Impinj’s president and CEO. “His energy, knowledge and experience will jumpstart our next growth phase as RFID adoption goes mainstream and as we begin leveraging our existing products to deliver solutions around item intelligence.” “Impinj is the clear market leader in a very fast-growing technology space,” said Brodersen. “Item Intelligence, as delivered by Impinj, promises to deliver more powerful business application value within the Internet of Things. The timing is ideal to prepare for significant scale, taking the company and its ecosystem of partners and resellers to a new level in all global markets.” “With a stand-out record of innovative product development, Impinj has laid the groundwork for the mainstream adoption of UHF RFID that is clearly happening today,” said Larry Arnstein, Impinj’s vice president of business development and, until Brodersen’s appointment, Impinj’s acting vice president of marketing. “Eric’s arrival signals that Impinj is poised to lead the next phase of market development, driven by diverse applications running on robust RFID infrastructure.” Brodersen served as senior vice president of marketing and business development for Isilon Systems (now part of EMC) from 2010 to 2013 where he helped scale the division’s revenue to more than $1 billion and led marketing, business development, M&A, alliances, global support, education services and divisional integration. Prior to Isilon, Brodersen served as senior vice president of worldwide sales for Quantum starting in 2009, where he led global, partner-driven operations totaling more than $650 million in fiscal year 2010. Prior to leading Quantum’s worldwide sales strategy, Brodersen served as senior vice president for Quantum’s EMEA and APAC sales operations, from 2007 to 2009, and prior to that post he served as vice president of marketing for Quantum, leading the company’s marketing strategy during its acquisition and integration of ADIC in 2006. Prior to the acquisition, he held numerous sales and marketing leadership positions at ADIC. Brodersen holds a B.A. in Government from Harvard University and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan.
