Holst Centre Successful in EU FP7 Research Funding

Holst Centre has been extremely successful in the 2011 rounds of funding applications under the European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). Five of eight proposed collaborative projects won funding, following 11 out of 16 in previous rounds.

“Having so many projects approved for EU FP7 funding highlights our strong track record in collaborative research, and that key players in all areas recognize our value. It also shows that the innovation we do sits at the center of what the EU wants to support,” says Barteld de Ruiter, contract and IP coordinator at Holst Centre.

The five projects to receive funding in the most recent application round are:
• IM3OLED – Molecular modeling of OLEDs to optimize devices and yields.
• X10D – Developing efficient, low-cost organic solar cells.
• IMOLA – Intelligent light management to enable the integration of flexible OLEDs into real products.
• COLAE – Knowledge and IP support for companies to reduce time-to-market for products based on organic electronics.
• Clean4Yield – Defect and contamination control for high-yield, cost-effective roll-to-roll production of organic electronics.
