The airport Nanchang Changbei International Airport in China has selected HID Global’s networked acceszzcontactless smart cards and readers for its new terminal.

The aviation hub for Jiangxi Province, the Nanchang Changbei International Airport handles more than three million passengers a year. Now HID Global, a subsidiary of ASSA ABLOY, is helping enhance overall security by replacing the airport’s old employee photo ID badge system with iClass contactless smart cards. VertX controllers and iCLASS readers have been deployed in six core areas, including boarding gates, equipment rooms and management offices.
The cards, controllers and readers enable up-to-theminute record transmittal to the central server for report generation and real-time monitoring. The new system also addresses the airport’s need to restrict entry to specific areas based on the time of day, access to authorized personnel, and access control levels according to job titles.

“Having also completed installations in other major airports in China, HID Global will continue to provide world-class access control solutions that support the rapid development of aviation infrastructure throughout the country,” said Eric Chiu, director of sales, identity and access management, China with HID Global.
