Henry Wurst Inc. has coupled its new Goss Sunday 2000 press with a complete and automated postpress solution from Rima-System. The delivery solution includes a fully automatic RS 610HS log stacker with palletizer and a trimming line with compensating stacker. This postpress flexibility allows Henry Wurst to fulfill basically all customer requests, from magazine and book work to press finished inserts or sales catalogs and large variety of specialty formats. Run lengths will scale efficiently from thousands to millions. Cost-effective production is of essence in every printing plant. Short-run operations with frequent changes and start-ups will pay even more attention to optimized processes and equipment so they can minimize start-up costs (waste and time). Quick and easy machine set-up, reduced start-up waste and reliable automation are part of the postpress solution and support Henry Wurst’s productivity targets. The RS 610HS log stacker offers a closed loop log building process, and is a self-learning process which adjusts the infeed speed, log pressure and log building speed in real-time. What is the benefit for the customer? Good and consistent log quality starting from log number one that is ideal in short-run environments. With speeds of up to 70,000 impressions/hr., the new press and postpress installation is perfectly suited to serve long runs too, allowing Henry Wurst to offer a great variety of print solutions. “The Sunday 2000 combined with the Rima-System log stacking was a unique and special solution for our requirements,” says Randy Radosevich, plant manager for Henry Wurst. “The combination of these two technologies is very flexible and has the performance and reliability we were looking for. With our finger firmly on the pulse of the latest marketing trends and innovations, we invest in print, which remains an important part of the marketing mix.” Founded in 1937, Henry Wurst is the largest printer in Kansas City, Mo., and has a long-established reputation for high-quality printing. The Sunday 2000 and the Rima-System postpress will firmly position Henry Wurst among the most efficient producers in the marketplace. They are replacing two existing five- and eight-unit presses at Henry Wurst’s Kansas City printing facility, and are significantly increasing the company’s production capacity. Mike Wurst, CEO of Henry Wurst notes, “We see a bright future in printing, and are excited to bring this new equipment online to benefit our customers with improved quality, capacity and efficiency.”
