Hanwha SolarOne CSO and Board Member Leaves Company

Hanwha SolarOne Co., Ltd. announced that D.K. Kim, chief strategy officer and a board member of Hanwha SolarOne, resigned from his positions effective Aug. 1 and joined Hanwha Q CELLS, a sister company also owned by Hanwha Chemical and a part of the growing network of solar entities under the Hanwha Group.

Kim played an integral role in developing Hanwha Group’s strategy to identify solar as an important growth engine for the business group and has been instrumental in the management of Hanwha SolarOne since December 2011.

In his new role as chief strategy officer at Hanwha Q CELLS in Germany, Kim will focus on accelerating the further development of the company’s already strong technology position and global market leadership. He will also focus on strengthening the company’s presence in the important European market, as well as accelerate development of the company’s downstream strategy.
