FUJIFILM Displays Market-Leading Inkjet Technology for Wide Format Printing at SGIA Expo 2012

The latest advancements in printing and inkjet technology will be on display this week as FUJIFILM North America Corporation’s Graphic Systems Division will exhibit a portfolio of solutions for the printing industry at the SGIA Expo 2012, taking place Oct. 18-20 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, in booth 2015. Printers at this year’s SGIA Expo will be able to experience the results of this commitment with demonstrations of market-leading inkjet technologies for wide format printing including the following:

• The new features of the Inca Onset S40i, the most productive UV flatbed press.
• The brand new Acuity Advance Select UV flatbed, and Acuity LED 1600.
• The latest development in the series of Uvistar super-wide format printers, the Uvistar Pro8.
• Various wide format media featuring Fujifilm’s partnership with Visual Magnetics patented magnetic-receptive graphic system.
• Software and technology solutions including ColorGate, Caldera, XMF ColorPath, and Esko Automation Engine.

The brand new Acuity Advance Select builds on all the advantages of the Acuity Advance platform with the same ultra-high print quality, and adds a number of new features that improve production efficiencies and extend the platform’s versatility, allowing it to be used for a much wider range of applications.

One of the key developments incorporated into the new Acuity Advance Select is the inclusion of eight independent ink channels. The 8-channel model includes CMYK with an additional channel for cyan and magenta and the option of 2 channels of white or white plus clear ink for printing spot or flood clears.

As with other Acuity Advance models, the Select has an optional roll media kit for printing onto any number of flexible materials. This simple-to-use option is incredibly versatile, allowing an operator to prepare rigid material on the flat bed while the roll media option is printing. The print performance of the Acuity Advance Select is maximized and enhanced with the combination of Fujifilm’s uniquely formulated Uvijet inks.

Recently introduced to the U.S. market, the Inca Onset S40i meets the high-volume, fast-turnaround production needs of printers. This flatbed UV inkjet printer includes many new intelligent features that increase productivity and reliability: a zoned vacuum bed reduces masking, an innovative UV sensor system automates cleaning of printheads, and a sophisticated substrate height detector further protects printheads. It is ideal for the production of single and double-sided display POS, exhibition graphics, backlit/frontlit displays, outdoor signage printing and cosmetic/fashion graphics

With groundbreaking image quality and class-leading productivity, the FUJIFILM Acuity LED wide format inkjet UV LED printer is driven by Fujifilm technology and designed for creativity. Ideal for the printer new to wide format inkjet printing, or for users who wish to save costs by printing with the newest LED UV curing technology, the Acuity LED uses a proprietary design, patent-pending UV LED ink curing system to produce exceptional quality display graphics on roll or rigid substrates. The machines benefits include lower operating costs and reduced environmental impact. Reaching print speeds up to 215 sq ft/hr while providing outstanding quality output, the Acuity LED offers best-in-class productivity and provides the capacity and capability to meet customer demand for shorter delivery times.

The Acuity LED provides a standard 8-color ink set including CMYK plus light cyan, light magenta, white and clear, and allows printing white or clear ink in a single pass for even greater productivity. Spot clear ink adds special effects to create more value to graphic displays and signs. Also, the innovative hybrid design allows for printing on wide format roll media, rigid board and sheet substrates up to ½” thick and 63” wide.

The latest development in the highly successful series of Uvistar super-wide format printers is the Uvistar Pro8. The new platform is particularly suited to producing super-wide format print for both display POP and outdoor advertising markets on flexible and rigid media, and includes a complete set of light colors within the ink set to increase print quality without compromising on print speed. This enables the Uvistar Pro8 to produce high definition display POP graphics at speeds reaching 3800 sq.ft. per hour. The new Uvistar Pro8 was developed in combination with Fujifilm’s brand new Uvijet QN inks to meet the growing demands of indoor applications, where viewing distances tend to be closer and rigid materials are more commonly used.

Additionally, Fujifilm’s new partner, Visual Magnetics, will be on hand to showcase its patented magnetic-receptive graphic system. The unique large-scale graphics solution enables the creation of in-store graphics that can be updated effortlessly. It can be tailored to meet a wide array of changeable graphic needs and is also engineered to be ultra-low profile, allowing for multi-layering of the image while giving the seamless appearance of a single layer print.

The Fujifilm edition of ColorGATE’s Production Server is designed to be the center of wide format inkjet and screen printing workflow.

The XMF ColorPath web-based solution uses extremely accurate color technology to deliver extremely accurate results. ColorPath Sync synchronizes color to industry standards across many print processes, resulting in consistent print no matter the media. In the traditional pressroom, ColorPath Sync’s Align tool aligns presses using TVI adjustments. In the digital pressroom, ColorPath’s Device Link Profile (DLP) tools align digital print devices.
