Flint Group Appoints Antoine Fady New CEO

Flint Group announced that Antoine Fady has been appointed CEO with effect from Jan. 1, 2011.

Mr. Fady will succeed Charles Knott, who will hand over these responsibilities in order to separate the duties of the chairman and CEO. Mr. Knott will continue on as chairman and remains committed to the long-term growth and development of Flint Group.

Mr. Fady joins Flint Group with more than 20 years of global specialty chemical experience, most recently serving as general manager, Akzo Nobel Decorative Paints-Europe, and prior to that, as CEO ICI Packaging & Coatings.

Flint Group Catering for Growing Markets with New Site in India

In order to meet the increased demand and to further improve its service to packaging converters, Flint Group is building a new state-of-the-art manufacturing site for packaging and narrow web inks in Savli near Baroda in India.

Flint Group has been present in India since 2001, but the company’s roots go back much further than this.

With a rapidly growing packaging industry in India, Flint Group is keen to cater for customers in this market. “We already have an ISO 9001-2000 certified mother plant for packaging inks in Bangalore and blending units in Baroda, Noida and Savli, supported by depots at Pondicherry, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Navi Mumbai,” said Upal Roy, general manager Flint Group India. “We are proud to soon be in a position to support the market even further with our new plant in Savli.”

The plant is currently being built and will meet European standards on processes and safety. It will consist of separate areas for the manufacturing of water-based, toluene-based and toluene-free solvent-based inks.

Next to the expansion of its packaging inks manufacturing operations in Poland and the acquisition of Torda, this is another important investment in a growth region for Flint Group’s Packaging and Narrow Web division this year demonstrating its strong commitment for continuous growth in the packaging segment.
