EuPIA Provides Guidance for Environmental Footprint of Printing Inks

EuPIA, the European Printing Inks Manufacturers Association, supports the transition to a more sustainable European Union, as well as the goals of the EU Green Deal and the Chemical Strategy for Sustainability.

In this sense, to allow all its members to improve their environmental and sustainability performances, EuPIA has developed a tool to facilitate the transition. The tool aims to ensure that every member of EuPIA, including small or medium-sized companies, can calculate their Products’ Environmental Footprint allowing them to better answer to market and customer requests.

Actual data is not included in EuPIA’s guidance, as this will depend on individual suppliers, so each company will need to draw upon their own database to feed this tool. The EuPIA Environmental Footprint of Printing Inks (EFPI) Working Group strongly encourages the gathering of effective data for each single raw material, as they may differ from one supplier to the other.
