eMagin Appoints Amal Ghosh as Senior VP of R&D

Will be responsible for managing eMagin's research and development activities

eMagin Corporation has appointed Dr. Amal Ghosh as senior vice president, research and development. Dr. Ghosh, who has done pioneering work in OLED technology and research at both Eastman Kodak Company and eMagin Corporation, will be responsible for managing eMagin’s research and development activities.

Prior to joining eMagin, Dr. Ghosh was with IBM Corporation for nearly 10 years, both at the T. J. Watson Research Laboratories as well as at the East Fishkill Microelectronics Division, where he contributed to numerous programs involving semiconductor technology and LCD flat panel displays. Dr. Ghosh served as program manager, OLED Technology Laboratory at Eastman Kodak Company, and has served as vice president, OLED R&D at eMagin since 2006.

“Amal’s contributions have been critically important for our R&D contracts, new product introduction, product improvements and yield improvement, notably the development of our advanced OLED-XL technology,” said Andrew Sculley, eMagin’s CEO and president. “In this new role, he will further strengthen our technology leadership as we continue to move forward in advancing our OLED technology portfolio and product commercialization.”

Dr. Ghosh has numerous published papers in accredited journals and issued US patents to his credit. In 2003, Dr. Ghosh received a Special Recognition Award from the Society for Information Displays (SID) for his work in flat panel displays. In 2009, he was named to receive the SID Fellow award for his technical contributions to the display area. He also received the 2009 SID Mid-Atlantic Chapter award for his leadership and service to the chapter. Dr. Ghosh is currently the Secretary and a member of the Board of Directors of SID. Dr. Ghosh obtained a Ph.D. degree in physics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA.
