Huhtamaki has received the prestigious Gold Medal from EcoVadis for the fourth consecutive year, placing the company in the top 5% of more than 130,000 rated companies worldwide.

The score is based on Huhtamaki’s performance in the four categories of Environment, Labour and Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. Compared to last year, Huhtamaki’s most significant improvements were in supplier engagement and reporting on environmental impacts. In 2023, Huhtamaki made significant improvements in reducing waste and GHG emissions as well as increasing its focus on our nature issues.

“Receiving the Gold Medal from EcoVadis for the fourth year in a row is a significant achievement that reflects the progress we’ve made on our sustainability commitments,” says Salla Ahonen, Huhtamaki EVP of sustainability and communications. “Over the years, we have worked tirelessly to improve our sustainability performance, and it is very rewarding to get this recognition for the dedication of our employees, suppliers and customers. However, we understand that there is still much work to be done to achieve our ambitious 2030 sustainability goals. We will continue to focus on maximizing the positive and minimizing the negative impact on people and the planet. This recognition from EcoVadis is an important milestone, but it is only one step in our ongoing sustainability journey.”
