Leap Ink, a division of Grafix Equipment, announced that Dr. Hamdy Elwakil, formerly a senior staff chemist at DuPont and director of chemical research at ColorSpanHP, has joined the Leap Ink team. Dr. Elwakil has a Ph.D in physical chemistry and is the head of the Leap Ink R&D staff for inkjetting technologies. Dr. Elwakil currently has 15 U.S. patents and more than 40 worldwide patents. Dr. Elwakil pioneered inks for inkjet systems and is a designer of wide format printers using HP printheads. The addition of Dr. Elwakil ensures that Leap Ink will produce the highest quality inks possible to meet the demands of Grafix Equipment’s customers.
