Tag comes with both mechanical and electrical seal functions and is easy and fast to attach

Confidex, a leading manufacturer of UHF Gen2 Passive RFID tags, including a versatile portfolio of tags for IT assets, returnable transit items (RTIs) and industrial assets, announced its newest UHF RFID product, the Confidex Captura. The newest member of the Confidex Class 1 Gen 2 tag portfolio steps into an unprecedented level in both C1G2 tag security and usability. The tag comes with both mechanical and electrical seal functions and is extremely easy and fast to attach. As there is no need for adhesives, screws or other fixing tools, it is simple to calculate the total cost of ownership for Captura. Just click, secure and tag your asset. In rental returnable transit item (RTI) pools, the counterfeit RTI’s inside the pool cause extra cost. The design of the Confidex Captura incorporates both mechanical and electrical seal functions; when the tag is removed or the mechanical seal is broken, the tag won’t function properly. By tagging the RTIs with the Confidex Captura, the asset authenticity can be verified. In addition to usage in authentication and proof of origin data verification of assets, the tags are suitable for normal RTI and asset management applications for example in the automotive industry, logistics and retail supply chains. With large quantities of different types of metal containers in circulation, one of the advantages of the Captura is its generic method of attachment. When installing thousands and hundreds thousands of tags, the tag commissioning cost must be calculated into the total cost of ownership. Tag encoding, fixing adhesives and the resources used for fixing the tag increases the investment. In some cases the tag fixing costs can even exceed the cost of the tag itself. The Confidex Captura is fixed in a few seconds without any additional fixing materials. It fits to most of the RTI’s where there is a place to lock the hook. The Confidex Captura provides reliable identification in 3-meter (9,8ft) wide RFID gates. It is designed to be fixed on metal structures and its intelligent patent pending design makes use of the tagged object to achieve the best possible RF performance. The Captura has a small robust design with durable weather tolerant materials. Thanks to its hanging structure it stays intact and simply sways in the case of mechanical impacts. “There is a strong demand arising from the real life RFID implementations for durable tag solutions with easy and fast fixing in order to lower down the total cost of ownership,” said Hanna Kosunen, product line manager for hard tags and special labels. “The Confidex Captura forms a unique combination of a totally new level in security, RF functionality and high usability for encapsulated UHF RFID tags.” Confidex will showcase the Captura starting from April 14 onwards at the RFID Journal Live! In Orlando, FL.
