Colored By INX Can Design Contest April 29 Deadline Nears

The clock is winding down on the entry deadline for this year’s Colored by INX Can Design Contest. Open to all brand owners, metal decorators, design agencies and marketers who used the INX Color Catalog to produce a commercial can design before Jan. 1, 2024, all entries with the submission form, electronic design, and actual printed can must be postmarked no later than April 29.

Renee Schouten, VP of marketing for INX who manages the contest, says a rule change requiring the use of just one color from the INX Color Catalog – instead of two – is attracting more entries this year.

“We listened to what our customers were telling us, and I think it is a big factor in the response we are seeing so far,” she said. “The recent update to the INX Color Catalog also has helped. With about 650 color metal swatches to choose from, it gives you more ways to produce an outstanding design and get it to market faster. We have already received some high quality entries and expect to see more by April 29.”

The design entry for Shiner Texhex Bruja’s Brew IPA won last year’s contest.

Voting is conducted in two phases. First, an independent group of judges will determine the five finalists by reviewing all of the submitted entries. They consider the merits of originality, overall design aesthetics, best use of the color palette, and a statement detailing use of the INX Color Catalog for the design.

The five finalists will be announced on May 20, with the voting process set for May 22-24. One winner will be announced May 29 on the INX website and social media platforms.
