Canon U.S.A. has announced the new imagePRESS C800 Digital Color Press Series. Comprised of the imagePRESS C800 and imagePRESS C700, this series is designed for small-to-medium commercial, franchise, in-plant and quick printers, and is equipped to handle a variety of media options, including heavyweight coated stock, textured stock and envelopes.

“Building on Canon’s expertise with new toners, lasers, and registration systems, the imagePRESS C800 Series expands Canon’s family of digital color offerings and strengthens the company’s position in the light production market,” said Jim Hamilton of InfoTrends.

The imagePRESS C800 Series incorporates technologies from Canon’s flagship imagePRESS C7011VP/S Digital Color Press Series, including:

  • Canon’s proprietary Gloss Optimization technology, which tailors the gloss level of the toner image to that of the media used, similar to offset printed results.
  • The Advanced Image Transfer Belt that is designed to increase toner transfer efficiency on smooth as well as uneven media surfaces, affording these devices extended media-handling capabilities.
“Canon’s imagePRESS line is known for its ability to provide high-quality output, wide media support and outstanding productivity,” said Junichi Yoshitake, senior vice president and general manager, Business Imaging Solutions Group, Canon U.S.A. “With the imagePRESS C800 Series we are pleased to provide customers with the tools necessary to lessen operational costs while expanding the scope of services they can offer to their respective customer base. We look forward to continuing to raise the bar for our customers in the production print market.”
