Zebra Technologies announced that Bohn, a leading manufacturer of industrial refrigeration solutions, implemented Zebra’s RFID solutions to enhance inventory management and delivery accuracy.

In Mexico, Bohn plays a pivotal role in the cold chain, with temperature-sensitive foods being stored in its reliable refrigeration units. Historically, Bohn faced challenges with manual inventory management, where inventory counts consumed approximately six operational hours per day. Additionally, delivery inaccuracies, such as orders being sent to incorrect recipients, were a frequent customer concern.

To address these challenges, Bohn sought a modern solution to seamlessly integrate with its existing ERP System.

“We are thrilled with the new solution and implementation, which marks a major milestone in our commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction,” said Melissa Espinoza, distribution and sales manager, Bohn. “Following Zebra’s implementation, our inventory count now takes just 30 minutes, increasing inventory management efficiency by 92%.”

Bohn selected a tailored solution featuring the ScanMex Warehouse Management System (WMS), along with Zebra Technologies’ advanced RFID hardware, including MC3300xr mobile computers, ZT411 industrial printers along with supplies, FX9600 fixed readers, and AN4X series RFID antennas. The results have been transformative as the team has achieved a 100% reduction in delivery errors.

The successful implementation aligns with trends highlighted in Zebra’s Warehouse Vision Study, which reports that 73% of global decision-makers are expediting modernization projects. The study shows they plan to significantly increase the use of passive RFID tags and sensors (81%) and handheld RFID devices (71%).

“The e-fulfillment revolution has reshaped supply chains, requiring businesses to predict customer demand, enhance inventory visibility beyond traditional confines, and make real-time, informed decisions,” said Ernesto Hernández, SVP and GM, Zebra Technologies Mexico. “Zebra’s location and tracking solutions, such as RFID, empower businesses to sense, analyze, and act on real-time information, driving agility and efficiency.”
