BlueStar, the leading global innovator in solutions-based distribution for Auto ID, Point-of-Sale, Mobility, and RFID products, has assumed distribution of Impinj RFID readers and antennas in the North America and Latin America regions. With the industry’s largest installed base of UHF Gen 2 solutions, Impinj offers BlueStar resellers a broad product portfolio that includes tag chips, reader chips, readers and antennas. In particular, BlueStar customers will benefit from access to Impinj’s Speedway readers, which provide unmatched reliability and support a wide range of applications, as well as the full Impinj suite of reader antennas with operation optimized for item-level applications. “BlueStar is extremely proud to offer Impinj products to our RFID VARs, providing them with UHF solutions that were not available previously,” says Dan Miller, BlueStar RFID program manager. “Impinj technology allows BlueStar to serve new markets and continue its commitment to providing the widest and most diverse line of RFID products on the market.” Impinj maintains market leadership in UHF Gen 2 innovation, having championed the standard and consistently been first to market with new, trend-setting products. Impinj also introduced the RFID market to UHF for superior performance in near-field, liquid and metal applications. “BlueStar’s long-term focus on the Auto-ID industry and its commitment to providing value-added support and services to its reseller network make it an ideal fit for Impinj,” says Brad Johnson, senior sales director at Impinj. “We look forward to working with BlueStar to bring our best-of-breed technology to key vertical markets such as retail, logistics, healthcare, and government.” Across the board, Impinj UHF Gen 2 RFID products provide unprecedented performance, integration, and cost effectiveness. Ideally suited for item-level operation, Impinj reader antennas help an entire RFID system function more dependably and accurately. Frequently used in pharmaceutical fill lines, retail and apparel applications, consumer order fulfillment, and race timing, the antennas offer tightly controlled read zones that minimize the reading of stray tags. They also provide application-optimized read ranges for short range (near field), long range (far field), or a mix of the two. In the Speedway fixed reader, Impinj has brought together reader, tag chip, and antenna expertise to solve the industry’s toughest RFID challenges. Designed from the ground up to support the UHF Gen 2 standard, Speedway readers combine patented interference rejection, high throughput, and unmatched reliability. Speedway readers perform excellently in dense-reader environments and are capable of reading at the case, pallet or item level.
