For the second year running, Azuri CEO Simon Bransfield-Garth will participate at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2014. The 44th annual general meeting, which takes place from Jan. 22-25, will address the challenges facing the world in 2014 under the theme, “The Reshaping of the World – Consequences for Society, Politics and Business.”

In 2012, Azuri was named by the World Economic Forum as one of 23 global Technology Pioneers, innovative technology start-ups from around the world who are poised to make a significant and positive impact on business and society. While much of the world enjoys reliable supplies of domestic power, around 20% of the world has no access to electricity at all. Combining solar power with energy-efficient appliances, the company’s Indigo pay-as-you-go technology is enabling customers across 10 countries in sub Saharan Africa with the benefit of light after sunset and their mobile phones reliably charged.
