Applied Protein Systems (APS) has launched ProSoy 7460, a new soy protein binder designed for the water-based ink industry. ProSoy 7460 is currently manufactured at APS’ facility located in Chicago, IL.

The company reports that customers are experiencing on press ink resolubility characteristics resulting in longer press runs, enhanced print quality and easier press cleanup. The heat resistance imparted to the ink film results in enhanced scuff resistance in preprint corrugated board. Improved slide angle performance of the printed surface has also been observed.
