Applied Protein Systems (APS) launched ProSoy 7460, a new soy protein binder designed for the water-based ink industry. ProSoy 7460 is currently manufactured at APS’ facility located in Chicago, IL and was developed exclusively to provide value-added, economical solutions for the water-based ink industry. Current customers report excellent on press ink resolubility characteristics resulting in longer press runs, enhanced print quality, and easier press cleanup. The heat resistance imparted to the ink film results in enhanced scuff resistance in preprint corrugated board. Improved slide angle performance of the printed surface has also been observed.
