ams OSRAM has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Nature Fresh Farms USA Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. The lawsuit asserts that Nature Fresh Farms has infringed ams OSRAM’s rights in proprietary LED technology by using certain horticulture LED lighting fixtures, including the Agrolux Wega Plus.

Central to the litigation are seven of ams OSRAM’s US patents. These encompass its advanced hyper-red (660nm) LED architecture, which constitutes a critical component in high-performance lighting solutions for controlled environment agriculture.

“This matter transcends intellectual property – it is about safeguarding trust, confidence, technology, and fair competition,” said Aldo Kamper, CEO of ams OSRAM. “Our substantial investments have been directed towards providing measurable value to our customers. Protecting this innovation is not merely a choice, but a strategic imperative.”

Through this legal action, ams OSRAM seeks comprehensive enforcement of its intellectual property rights. ams OSRAM’s hyper-red technology, a product of extensive research and development, offers unparalleled photon efficacy and spectral precision for plant growth applications.

“This matter extends beyond ams OSRAM,” said Kamper. “We are safeguarding the interests of those who leverage our innovations – our customers, our partners, and all stakeholders who value fair market conditions. Consequently, we will persist in vigilant market monitoring and will not hesitate to take necessary legal action as warranted.”
