American Forest & Paper Association Releases May 2014 Kraft Paper Sector Report

The American Forest & Paper Association has released its May 2014 Kraft Paper Report. Total Kraft paper shipments were 128.9 thousand tons, 3.4 percent lower compared to the prior month. Bleached Kraft paper shipments dropped from 11.8 thousand tons in April to 9.4 in May, while unbleached Kraft paper shipments decreased from 121.7 thousand tons to 119.5. Overall, shipments for the first five months of 2014 were 1.4 percent lower than the same period last year. Total month-end inventories increased 6.4 percent compared to April.
