Akzo Nobel Inks North America (www.aninks.com) has introduced Uvocard-L, a high performance UV offset ink system for plastic card lamination.

This UV curable offset ink has been formulated for multiple card applications such as credit cards, cash cards, I.D. badges and promotional cards. This new ink exhibits high color strength, with 20 percent higher pigmentation than other products; excellent printability with minimal dot gain and optimal tack levels. According to the company, Uvocard-L exhibits excellent adhesion to synthetic substrates even when they contain high percentages of plasticizer. Uvocard-L has excellent laminating properties with high bond strengths.

Akzo Nobel Inks has developed Uvocard-L to meet growing market demands for a stronger ink with less misting, and overall improved print performance. Printers will enjoy higher press speeds, improved ink coverage, better litho performance, better mileage, faster set-up and less waste.
