Clariant and Agfa announced an agreement under which Agfa assumes ownership of Clariant’s Electronic Materials portfolio.

After a thorough strategic review, Clariant decided that its Electronic Materials business, consisting of cutting edge technology such as the PRELECT TPS Nano Silver Conductive Inks, was not sufficiently aligned with the existing high-value specialty portfolio at the heart of the company’s long-term strategy.

Therefore, Clariant is confident that transferring ownership of the Electronic Materials portfolio to Agfa presents it with the best opportunity to continue its path of successful development.

With the transfer, Agfa expands its Orgacon portfolio of functional materials for Printed Electronics applications.

As a result, Agfa will be even better placed to serve new and existing customers with materials and know-how for creating innovative printed electronics products in a.o. the automotive, industrial and clean energy markets.
