Agfa and Thieme launched their high-speed, flatbed ink jet system, M-Press, which combines Agfa’s ink jet technology and Thieme’s expertise in screen printing equipment. M-Press’ piezo inkjet system is equipped with 64 multilevel printheads. These new-generation UPH printheads, which were developed jointly by Agfa and Xaar, provide 509 dpi x 509 dpi quality and give the M-Press production speeds of 100 sheets per hour. M-Press uses Agfa’s Anuvia UV-curable inks. Optimized for indoor/outdoor use, Anuvia inks will last a minimum of two years on specified outdoor substrates. A dual UV-curing system provides maximum speed and greater control of the substrate-ink interaction.
